There is no better way to get something into another person’s hands than giving it to them for free. Nintendo of Europe is using this premise in a clever way to simultaneously push Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and 3DS in one clever move. For a limited time, gamers will effectively have the option to give the game to someone else when that person picks up a 3DS or 3DS XL.

The “Monster Hunter: Gift & Hunt Together Promotion” works by giving gamers who register the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ulitmate through Club Nintendo by June 30 a Recommendation Code that can be redeemed by someone who registers a 3DS or 3DS XL through Club Nintendo between now and July 31 for a free download of the game. Those of you who already registered a copy of the game need not fret, because your Recommendation Code should already be waiting for you on Club Nintendo.

Of course, we must remember that this currently only going on Europe, but it’s such a great idea that we can only hope Nintendo will roll it out in other markets. This truly is clever marketing concept that might be a great way to sway gamers who are on the fence when it comes to Monster Hunter, 3DS, or both.
