Anima: Ark of Sinners for WiiWare wore its Castlevania influences on its sleeve, embracing a unique art style and time-tested side scrolling action mixing combat and platforming. The title obviously left a favorable impression on enough gamers because its developer, Anima Project, just wrapped up a successful Kickstarter, raising over $110,000 for their next game, Anima: Gate of Memories.

The videos definitely show some amazing visuals, what appears to be magical attacks, as well as some suitably epic sounding music; but digging through the Kickstarter page reveals a lot more. Gameplay promises to mix action, adventure, and RPG elements, and there will be a branching story with an emphasis on optional side quests. Many more details regarding the story, world,  and characters can be found on the Kickstarter page.

Anima: Gate of Memories will also be available for Mac, PC, and even Linux for the ultra nerdy.
