We’re roughly two months away from the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon, and new information on the titles keeps trickling in at a steady rate. This morning, The Pokémon Company released yet another new trailer for the upcoming installments, giving fans a glimpse at some of the unique creatures and characters they will encounter on their journey in the Alola region.
The highlight of this particular trailer were the “ultra beasts,” mysterious Pokémon that are powerful enough to threaten the Alola region. Unlike typical Pokémon, these monsters are known simply by codenames, and the trailer gave us a glimpse at two of them: Type: Null, a chimera-like Normal-type Pokémon, and the mysterious shapeshifter UB-01. Little is known about these two Pokémon, but they’re under investigation by the Aether Foundation, a group of researchers who protect the Alola region and care for injured Pokémon. The foundation’s base of operations is Aether Paradise, an artificial island that’s part of the Alolan archipelago.
The trailer also revealed a new feature in Pokémon Sun and Moon: Poké Finder. This feature allows players to snap photos of wild Pokémon in certain photo spots scattered around Alola, reminiscent of the fan favorite Nintendo 64 spin-off Pokémon Snap. Your photos can also be shared with and rated by other players.

God, I hope that picture taking mode is a really fleshed-out minigame. Snap has been in desperate need of a sequel.
