New Nintendo Power Art Celebrates SNES History

It’s not quite as cool as a new issue, but it’s a nice homage!

When Nintendo Power folded back in 2012, some took it harder than others. After all, the magazine had been a staple since the days of the NES. The likelihood of the magazine ever returning seems slim, but Nintendo clearly hasn’t forgotten the legacy of the publication. To promote next month’s release of the SNES Classic, the company released a trio of new Nintendo Power covers, in homage to the magazine.

While Nintendo Power has been gone for a few years now, its legacy continues on in various forms. The Power Pros podcast and Nintendo Force magazine have both kept the magazine’s spirit alive. Neither of those projects are officially endorsed by Nintendo, however, so it’s nice to see the company acknowledge something that fans still hold in high regard.

The magazine covers can be downloaded digitally and used as wallpaper, but attendees at PAX West can pick them up physically this weekend.
