To the surprise of many Sega fans, the company announced today that a new batch of 3D Classic titles will arrive on the Nintendo eShop in early 2015. The original batch of 3D updated titles proved to be fairly popular with old-school gamers, but fans in the US and Europe had not seen a new release since 2013, leaving many to assume that the games already released in Japan would remain exclusive to the region. Luckily, gamers in the US and Europe have the following titles to look forward to:
- 3D After Burner II
- 3D Fantasy Zone
- 3D Fantasy Zone II
- 3D Outrun
- 3D Thunder Blade
While firm release dates have yet to be announced, we do know that the games will release monthly after the first title, 3D After Burner II arrives. The order after that remains to be revealed. Sega has confirmed that each title will cost $5.99/€4.99.

Nice! I really enjoy 3D Sonic and Galaxy Force, and will certainly grab one or two of these. (Why oh why is there nothing like this for the SNES Super FX games?!)
