After a successful launch in Japan, Miitomo was released to North American and European markets on March 31, and so far things have been looking quite good for Nintendo’s first release for phones and tablets.

Currently, Miitomo sits at the top of the free apps chart on the Google Play Store in the US, as well as the top of the Apple App Store in US and UK. Nintendo’s investors will also likely be happy to hear that the app has cracked the top 100 list of top earning apps in the US, which is rather impressive when you consider how, compared to many other apps, Miitomo isn’t very aggressive in pushing its in-app purchases.

Meanwhile, the app is continuing to do very well in Japan, with users averaging more than 22 minutes of playtime per day. Just as important is the fact that the app is performing better than most other apps in terms of users not deleting it after only a few days. And here’s a fun fact, Miitomo has found its way onto 3 percent of all devices running in Android in Japan. Now it would be interesting to see what level of saturation it is getting with Apple users.
