The Smash Bros. hype machine keeps rolling! During today’s Smash Bros. update, it was was revealed that Lucario, the Aura Pokémon who first appeared in Game Freak’s fourth generation Pokémon titles, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl (and the title character from the eighth Pokémon film, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew), will be rejoining the fray in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS!

Like King Dedede, the previous character announced for the upcoming Smash Bros. titles, Lucario made his series debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii. His return brings the current roster of fighters up to 22. As with other characters, we can only presume his moveset will remain largely the same based on the handful of screenshots that Nintendo has released, but he’ll likely receive a few tweaks before the games launch later this year. Perhaps he’ll Mega Evolve for his new Final Smash?

Are you excited to see Lucario return in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS? What other Pokémon characters would you like to see appear in the games? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
