This past weekend, Nintendo aired a special Monster Hunter 4-themed Nintendo Direct broadcast for Japan, giving fans a closer look at the game before it launches in the region later this week. Among the features highlighted in the broadcast was a special Link costume that players will be able to download soon after the game’s release!
The costume in question is based on Link’s outfit from Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, complete with the hero’s distinctive hat and tunic. It also comes with the Hylian Shield and Master Sword as a sword and shield set; players who prefer ranged weapons can also use the Hero’s Bow on their hunts.
Interestingly enough, Link won’t be the only Nintendo hero making an appearance in Monster Hunter 4; players will also be able to download costumes based on Mario and Luigi, which they can use to dress their Felyn partners. These costumes will be available from 7-11 stores around Japan.
Monster Hunter 4 will be released in Japan on September 14. The game has yet to be announced for other territories, but one can only hope that the inclusion of Nintendo’s most iconic characters means the game will be making its way overseas before long.
