When it comes to JRPGs, few franchises are more significant than Dragon Quest, which not only laid the foundation for the genre but also remains incredibly popular, especially in Japan. While we don’t yet know when the Dragon Quest XI will be coming the worldwide markets, Square Enix has detailed when the game will be available in its home country.
Dragon Quest XI will be launching in Japan on July 29 for 3DS and PlayStation 4, and interestingly enough, there will actually be a bundle coming out featuring copies of the game for both systems along with special packaging. Square Enix previously announced its plans to release the game for Nintendo Switch as well, but the publisher hasn’t announced when it will be coming out, though it did state there is a chance it could come out on the same date as the other versions.
Hopefully Square Enix will reveal its plans for Dragon Quest XI outside of Japan as well as for Switch sooner rather than later, so be sure to stay on the lookout for more information in the future.
