During the NY Giants 27-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens yesterday, Nintendo fans viewing the game were treated to an interesting fashion choice. Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. wore a pair of pink-colored cleats featuring Nintendo mascot Kirby. The custom cleats were apparently worn to coincide with the NFL’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is held during the month of October.
The Kirby cleats were designed by Kickasso, a custom shoe company based in Los Angeles. Beckham Jr. is known for wearing custom cleats during games, having worn a pair just last month honoring the victims of the terrorist attacks on 9/11.
It’s unknown if Beckham Jr. will continue to sport the cleats throughout the rest of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
