Since the official announcement of the Nintendo Switch, new information on the system has been nearly non-existent. As Nintendo waits until after the holidays to release specifics, fans have had to make do with the small number of leaks and hints that have emerged. According to the latest rumor from Let’s Play Video Games, we could finally have some new information, in the form of a European price point!
According to the website, the system will retail for £199.99 for a basic model and £249.99 ($249-299) for an enhanced version. Considering the Wii U also launched with two different versions, this is not totally unexpected. Whether the latter version will also come with a pack-in game and more memory remains to be seen.
Rumors are always to be taken with a grain of salt, but the source of the information makes this a bit more credible. The information reportedly comes from UK retailer GAME. After the article was published by Let’s Play Video Games, Laura Dale, the writer of the article, claimed on Twitter that GAME has made vague legal threats in order to get the article taken down. It is still on the website as of this writing.
Thankfully Nintendo will give fans more information on Switch early next year. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for the latest as it develops!
