A few weeks ago, Nintendojo reported that the Pokémon Company had announced an exclusive distribution event for a Fancy Pattern version of the Pokémon Vivillon. We weren’t sure exactly when the event would begin, but we did know that the distribution was being held to commemorate 100 million Pokémon trades between Pokémon X and Y players using the titles’ Global Trade System. At the time, 85 million trades had already been made. It was announced today that the threshold has been crossed, and Pokéfans looking to catch all of Vivillon’s various pattern types will now be able to download the latest.

Fancy Pattern Vivillon is officially the 20th version of the Bug-type pocket monster that made its debut in Pokémon X and Y. The Fancy Pattern version will boast the Hold Hands ability when players download it. The ability is unique to this particular Pokémon, and it’s the first time we’ve seen it appear throughout the series.

Players looking to download Fancy Pattern Vivillon can do so from now until July 31.
