As of last week, Pokémon fans in the US have been able to acquire toys featuring Pikachu and the gang at participating McDonald’s locations. Based on Pokémon Sun and Moon, the line features eight different Pokémon and twelve different cards. Fans in Europe have sadly been left out in the cold, but it appears that will change in early 2018! Fans in that particular region will be able to catch twice as many Pokémon characters when the promotion kicks off in January!

While this is certainly great news for Pokémon fans, it does raise the question of which toys will release in the region. North America missed out on two of the Sun and Moon toys that initially released in Japan: Pikipek and the Rotom Pokédex. That would still leave six unaccounted for, however. According to McDonald’s, the promotion will feature “the most popular Pokémon generations,” so the lineup may feature a mix of different promotions that missed the region. Either way, we should know very soon what to expect!
