Zelda II: The Adventure of Link has always been one of the more controversial titles in that particular franchise. The changes Nintendo made from the original game left some players feeling a bit disappointed. Still, it maintains a fairly loyal fan base, partially due to its uniqueness. Fans of that title might want to keep an eye out for Elliot’s Quest when it arrives on the Wii U eShop early next year. Developer Ansimuz Games’ upcoming title looks like it will draw quite a bit of inspiration from Link’s second NES outing, as well as a few other classic games. We’ve embedded the trailer below so you can judge for yourself!
Elliot’s Quest follows the game’s titular character as he attempts to break a curse that’s been cast upon him. His quest will take him across five different worlds as he tries to stop the game’s 16 unique boss characters. Like Zelda II, the game features a top-down world map and a side-scrolling perspective inside towns and dungeons. The title also offers some RPG customization options, as well.
Pricing information for Elliot’s Quest remains unknown, though the PC version will launch at $9.99 when it releases next month. Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more information on the game in the coming months!
