Developer 13AM Games is bringing its action-adventure title, Double Cross, to Nintendo Switch on January 10.
The game is being co-published by Graffiti Games and Headup Games, and follows Zahra Sinclair, a R.I.F.T. agent (Regulators of Interdimensional Frontiers and Technology) responsible for maintaining peace and order among all dimensions. Players can collect the rare ingredient Upgradium to customize Zahra’s abilities, such as equipping permanent fighting moves, stronger attacks, and other skills to aid her in saving the multiverse.
Double Cross boasts a “robust investigation system” that encourages players to find clues as they travel between dimensions, to reveal who is attacking R.I.F.T. This includes taking evidence to the correct R.I.F.T. agent for further investigation, which adds a visual novel element to the game.
Gameplay is described as “Mega Man-like” and features brawling combat as well as a unique sling fighting mechanic that allow the player to grab and throw objects, which also aids in platforming sequences. Zahra will travel interdimensionally and each level requires a different gameplay mechanic in order to complete it.
