Full confession here: I play every console under the sun, my friends. Under my TV reside all of this generation’s systems, which includes a PlayStation 4. Now, I’m a Nintendo man through and through— if the house is on fire, my Switch is what I’ll ninja roll through the flames to safety with. That said, I have a huge appreciation for what the distinguished competition gets up to. Case in point: Activision’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy for PS4.
The title is a recreation of developer Naughty Dog’s legendary original three Crash Bandicoot platformers for the original PlayStation. At the height of the console wars, mascots were pitted against one another in bloody media skirmishes of domination. Crash was Sony’s then-herald, and his first trio of games were of exceptional quality. This is the studio behind Uncharted and The Last of Us, so it only makes sense, right?
Word broke recently that N. Sane Trilogy would be going multiplatform, effectively bringing the storied PSOne titles to non-Sony home consoles for the first time. The original release date was right in the heart of summer on July 10. Now, it’s been revealed that the collection will instead hit Switch a couple weeks earlier on June 29!

Now that is some sweet news. Don’t let this one slip by you, Nintendo faithful! While Crash has been on Nintendo platforms in the past, these first three games never have, and remain the pinnacle of the series. Will you be checking out N. Sane Trilogy?
