Some might argue that zombies are played out, having spent so much time in the limelight that they’re starting to smell a little old. Developer 2020 Venture hopes to enliven the walking dead a little with Chasing Dead, a first-person shooter the studio is hoping to bring to Wii U before 2015 ends.
Chasing Dead begins with a somewhat unique premise for a zombie game; a second Earth appears next to our own home planet and its population consists mostly of the undead, among many other horrible monsters. Not only does the trailer promise everything from your average, shambling zombies to towering, skyscraper-sized horrors, but it also looks like your options for blowing the baddies to pieces will be equally diverse, featuring guns, baseball bats, chainsaws, and even tanks. I think it’s safe to say that Chasing Dead looks to lean a bit more toward the action side of the horror genre.
While 2020 Venture hasn’t set an official release date, it has confirmed that the product is almost finished, and they studio is in the process of getting everything fixed up to meet final approval standards. 2020 hopes Chasing Dead will be ready to go before the we roll over into 2016.
