Yasuhiro Wada’s (creator of Story of Seasons) latest project, Birthdays the Beginning, is headed to Nintendo Switch in Japan as Happy Birthdays on March 29.

This sandbox life-sim centers around creating entire ecosystems within cube-shaped worlds. Players start with a flat, barren plot of land and then create water, watching as life springs from its depths. From there it’s possible to build up land masses, add plant life, alter the temperature of the atmosphere and watch as animal life begins to evolve on land and the world continues to expand.

The Switch version of Birthdays the Beginning will feature improvements over the PlayStation 4 and PC versions, including easier navigation for things like conditions and places where life is born, game tempo improvements and the introduction of new animals.

Check out the trailer below:

Birthdays the Beginning is available on Playstation 4 and PC in the US so it remains to be seen whether the Switch version will also make its way to the West.
