Nintendo just announced a third wave of Amiibo figures set to arrive in 2015, but it’s not quite done dishing out information if today’s news is any indication. First off, Nintendo revealed that along with Zelda and Link, the Toon Link and Sheik Amiibos will also be bringing additional content to Hyrule Warriors. What that content is, though, remains a bit of a mystery. So far, Link has been confirmed to be bringing the Spinner weapon from Twilight Princess with him, but what Toon Link and Sheik bring to the table is up in the air (similar to Zelda– she’s bringing a mystery weapon, herself).  Still, it’s nice to know that Nintendo is really taking the Amiibos seriously, and hopefully other games will continue to see support from the line of toys as more of them come out. Keeping functionality fluid seems like a smart way to go.

In related news, Shulk of Xenoblade Chronicles fame is getting his own Amiibo… which will be exclusive to GameStop in North America. The used games giant posted as much on its website, noting the exclusivity along with a tentative February 2015 release date. It had been previously noted that some retailers would be getting exclusive Amiibos, and GameStop’s listing would make Shulk the first. Whether it’s timed exclusivity or not is unknown, but for now, anyone interested in picking up Shulk better head over to GameStop and make a preorder! Amiibo news continues to pour in, so make sure to keep an eye on Nintendojo for the latest!
