Last week, Bandai Namco revealed that One Piece Super Grand Battle! X is getting Amiibo support in the form of unlockable costumes based on Nintendo characters. Apparently, the publisher isn’t stopping at just one 3DS title, however! Nintendo’s popular figures will also unlock special plane skins in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus, as well! If you’ve ever wanted to see an A-10A that looks like Mario’s eternal nemesis, check out the very cool video we’ve mirrored below!

Interestingly enough, Mario, Bowser, and Peach’s skins can be obtained in the game through normal means. An Amiibo figure will simply speed up the process. In a manner similar to Mario Kart 8, the skins based on Luigi, Samus, and Link can only be unlocked through Amiibo support, however.

With Amiibo sales proving to be fairly successful so far, it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of this sort of support in the future. Is this something you’d like to see continue? As always, let us know what you think in the comments below!
