Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden is the latest entry in Koei Tecmo’s long-running survival-horror series (which Nintendo is now co-owner of), and if this footage is any indication, it’s shaping up to be a good one. The newest video preview shows lead character Yuri Kozukata wielding the series’ signature Camera Obscura in a derelict mountain setting, where she uses the device to uncover secrets in her surroundings.

Players will use the GamePad to scan the environment for wandering spirits and hidden items. Holding the controller in front of them, players aim the GamePad at the TV and look for secrets on the controller’s screen. The mechanic seems like a perfect fit for the Fatal Frame series (and Metroid, for that matter). Though Fatal Frame: The Black Haired Shrine Maiden is heading to Japanese Wii U systems on September 27, there’s still no word on a Western localization. Fingers crossed this will be heading our way!
