Tired of Gaming....
So.. I had a Wii for awhile, and got tired of it, and so I traded it in for a PS3 slim couple months back, and now for the past month, it has sat on my floor being used just for a DVD player. I have had no motivation to play anything on it, or even to turn it on. I am thinking about just selling it, and moving on, and not having a gaming system at all. I don't know if it is me just getting bored with gaming, or just because only a select few friends game and it is hard to get together and actually play. What do you all think I should do. The options I am taking are just stick w/ the PS3 and maybe I will turn around, and want to play again, or am I just getting bored with gaming in general and just cut the ties???

i feel the same way about this generation of gaming. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the 25 button controllers for both the PS2 and Xbox but this generation has taken that to a whole new level. I barely play games on the consoles because I have a hard time remembering what button does what when your jumping from Resident evil 5 to Dead Space. The red ring of death has completely alienated me from the 360 and any future Microsoft product as well. I find myself going back to my dreamcast and gamecube as far as newer systems and anything 16-bit is still fun and compelling because of the ease of controllers. 4 frigging shoulder buttons is just overkill in my opinion.

yeah man I totally agree. I think a major thing for me now days, is like I said, it is hard to get friends together to play. Yeah you can play online, but having friends around playing is what makes video games fun I think, and when there is none of that, just gets BORING. I can't decide what I wanna do!!!

Get a Wii. Again.
It's obviously better than PS3. Why. You had a Wii for close to 3 years before selling it. It took less than a year for you to want to sell the Playstation.

Espeon, my deal is off thetable since we both recognize how much I have to give up for a measly underpowered blu ray player. |

I went through a no-gaming period around 2007. Don't force yourself to enjoy it, give it a rest and you may gain interest later. By E3 2008 I was craving some gaming.

My other problem is that games of yesteryear were made to look like videogames and to be enjoyed as such. Nowadays what puts me off about them is that game developers are turning games into movie-like experiences. It is ok to try these things but when you switch your mindset to look at the game like a movie experience and start watching the characters on the screen, you start to notice that the characters lips dont move and their facial expressions are completely off. The effect is very robotic like and reminds me of why Beowulf was a complete disaster. If they present the game to me like a pixar movie instead of some realistic experience then I can accept the game for what it is. A game like Windwaker is more accepting to me because it is not trying to look realistic yet the facial expressions are awesome because the graphic style blends well with it. |
