Just saw Cuckoo's Nest over the weekend. Pretty good film; very strong acting. Didn't think Nurse Ratched was quite as evil as advertised, though.

In the book she's round about the biggest bitch you could ever imagine. She's also older and has blue hair.

Probably an honorable mention would be the Rocky series. I mean the series was about 20 years long and spanned 6 movies, not to mention the forth one had Rocky fighting a communist!

Oh! Oh! Oh! A Better Tomorrow II.

Don't know why I love that better than his other movies. Just do. Old-school John Woo kicks about thirteen thousand different kinds of ass.

I wouldn't want to ruin the story, but basically, it's about the most pitiful guy you can imagine (unless you think about beggars or something), but you don't have all that much sympathy because he's a real asshole. He's just really dislikable.

It's a black drama/comedy.

So it's basically a movie about the general population of the internet?

Frost Nixon is the most recent movie I've seen that I'd classify as a "Good" movie, but I'd hesitate to call it one of the tops of all time.

A few awesome movies that have not gone mentioned here include:

Usual Suspects
The Departed
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Pick your favorite Bourne Movie

Some over-rated movies include:

Citizen Kane
Goodfellas
Fight Club

Not my absolute favorite ever or anything, but I just watched Predator again. That movie is totally tits. Now I can't stop yelling "GET TO DA CHOPPA!" and striking gay macho poses while covered in mud.

SchnitzengrubenhausenFuhrer, and other such Austrian stuff.

All this movie talk gets me looking at the upcoming movie release schedule for the remainder of the year. And it just reminds me why I never really go to movies anymore.

I had a teacher in grad school who you would swear grew up down the street from Arnold. A friend and I used to just sit in the back of the room muttering "GET TO DA CHOPPA" "JA-NEEN" "DO IT, DO IT NOWWW"

I don't think he liked us too much.

IT'S NOT A TOO-MAH!

Yeah, foreign teachers make for mass hilarity. We had an economics teacher from Zimbabwe, a rather portly older woman with a penchant for yelling at people. A friend of mine was actually suspended for calling her a "dumb Zulu", it was great.

And dude, as for upcoming movie, you've still got Zombieland, that's going to be amazing.

I was so disappointed in the Avatar trailer, but now that I've seen a few minutes of it in 3D I "get it". Just don't expect the completely 100% photoreal CGI that Cameron was blowing stuff out his ass about. It's more of an evolution than a revolution, just really really good effects, and not "I can't tell the difference between the people and the aliens". It still rocks though.

My favorite movie as a kid was Bloodsport and Enter the dragon. Nowadays it could possibly be The Green Mile.
