Volume 2, Issue 1: Back to the Beginning

We kick off a new volume of issues with a look back at the Nintendo console that started it all.

Four years and 200 issues ago, Nintendojo underwent a dramatic metamorphosis, adopting the design and issue format that we use to this day. A lot has certainly changed in the intervening years; in particular, we’ve eschewed the weekly themes that bound our issues together for a more free format approach to Nintendo coverage. But with 200 weeks of this content making their way into the Nintendojo archives (which stretch all the way back to 1996), it was about time to change things up again. That’s why we’re proud to present the first issue of Nintendojo, Volume 2.

Now with the issue counter reset to 1, we felt it would only be appropriate to pay tribute to the console that started it all: NES. So all this week, Nintendojo will be running a series of NES-themed articles, from retrospectives on some of the platform’s most notable titles to a round table of our fondest memories of the legendary system. And that’s just the beginning– every subsequent issue in Volume 2 will also follow a specific theme, allowing the staff to more thoroughly explore different gaming topics (though we’ll still leave plenty of room to discuss more timely matters as well). We hope you’ll stick with us as we delve into another volume of unique and thought-provoking Nintendo coverage!

Enjoy,

Kevin
