Issue 35: Nintendo IRL

Each year, the worlds in video games get a little more real, either through improved graphics, larger worlds or more nuanced characterizations. Not every game boasts the same advancements, but collectively there’s something there. And as game developers strive to pull us into these imaginative worlds even more, we’re encouraged to think of what would happen if game characters crossed into the real world? Would they fall into depravity like so many Grand Theft Auto heroes? Take a job that really complements their skills in their home worlds? The possibilities are intriguing, particularly with Nintendo’s characters since they’re often so firmly rooted in make believe and seldom venture into “adult” territory.

Well, they can wait no longer. We’ll be taking them into our world with a series of stories this week that we hope you find intriguing and amusing.

Enjoy,
Noah
