Summary
Tidman and Noah get one last “on like Donkey Kong” in, hypothesize Other M‘s disappointment and rip into Wii Speak.
In the show we talk about the device being rumored of discontinuation due to delisting on Amazon.com. Since recording, though, Nintendo UK told Cubed3 that the peripheral is not yet discontinued, and Amazon has removed the “discontinued: yes” note on the product page. And of course a third party vendor has jumped in to sell them as if there will be a rush on them. Really, just let it go, guys.

I think you guys article about Samus and feminism covered why this game sold poorly. Sakamoto and Reggie need to admit they messed up. Personally I think every Metroid after prime lost more the sense of atmosphere that defined the series. Hence why Prime 1 sold the best and other M the worst. They need to go all out atmosphere on the next one.
I bought a Wiispeak for Conduit last summer. Man that was a bad investment. I want the headbanger set for conduit 2 but is that just gonna be another flop?
I like the mini-casts and I would like to see more of that in the future for special events. May I suggest you do a few mini-casts so we know what Nintendojo-ites want for Christmas?
As for Metroid Other M? Well, I don’t own it yet as I don’t currently have the money for it. Maybe I shall get it for Christmas. Hopefully.
Hello everyone! Great show even though you went way over the 30 minute mark :P Not keeping to that anymore I guess? Haha, I can’t blame you, it’s hard to be so comprehensive about so many topics in 30 minutes. The shorter ones are good, but the longer ones are the best.
So is Nintendo just trying to copywrite use of the NAME or the entire phrase? The name I can see, it’s theirs I guess, but the phrase? How ridiculous!
It’s also nice to hear Noah isn’t playing so much LoL as it’s terrible! :P More other games! I was looking at the red Wii… I really, really want one, but not being able to xfer my shit is terrible. I have bought soooo many games from VC/WW etc & I don’t want to buy them again. Stupid Nintendo, living in the past :( Now if you have your saves on your SD drive can you put that into a new Wii & still have those saves accessable on a totally different Wii for your games? These are disc game saves, not the VC/WW ones… am I making sense? I know you can do it with the GC card obviously.
As for Other M… I was wary to play it after all the stuff I had heard & so just rented it instead of buying it. It was so terrible… I hated hearing Samus internalising & such, it was so irritating. Also, the controls were ghastly. It took some bold jumps, yes, but you know what, sometimes a bold jump ISN’T what a game needs. There isn’t aything wrong with sticking to the same things. Metroid was fantastic in 3 & I don’t see why anything needed to chagne from that. Also, in RE to what you guys said about the Japanese way of respecting elders, yea it’s true & I’m sure they go that in Japan, but they should have realised that people of the Western culture wouldn’t get that & that it’s not something that would be easily accepted. Trying to force that attitude on other cultures isn’t going to make a game better. I’m not knocking it, I’m just saying that they should have seen it coming… Samus has all these things & can’t use them because boss says no? That’s not something which appeals to the majority of Western culture.
For all I do love Nintendo, I think they need to stop being so full of themselves. Their servers are horrible & they really need to take a look at other companies & try new things. No one else cares about ripping off the other game companies & they are booming in joy because of it.
And finally, more mini casts please! I love them :D They are wonderful. More DSG is always a great thing :) Keep up the brilliant work guys! Also, Noah, the longer the review, the better ;)
