Welcome to another installment of Week: End Game: On! What games will the staff be playing this weekend? Read on to find out!

Having never owned a Wii until last year (sinful!), I am really hoping I get the opportunity to start up Metroid Prime Trilogy. Everyone keeps telling me it will change my life, make my bed, and feed the world, so we’ll see… I cannot imagine it bring me anymore happiness than that free copy of Excitebike I got from Club Nintendo (RIP).

This week, I finished up the Delta mission in Pokémon Omega Ruby. I still feel like I have a lot of Hoenn left to explore, but I really liked the Delta mission’s ending. The scope just felt bigger than anything we’ve seen out of this franchise before. As much as I enjoyed Pokémon X and Y, this was hands down the better game. It’s all the more impressive when you consider the fact that the original Ruby and Sapphire were my least favorite games in the mainline Pokémon franchise! Game Freak did a wonderful job updating this one, and I can’t say enough good things about the results!

I also started Gunman Clive 2 this week, and it’s everything I hoped it would be. We’ll have a full review in the very near future, but, spoiler alert, the game will be earning a nice write-up from us here at the Dojo.

Next week’s goal? See if I can score a Majora’s Mask New 3DS!

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, uunnhhhh, it’s taking up so much of my spare time. I got to sink my teeth into the final version of the game finally, and it’s proving to be pretty addicting. I know that Monster Hunter as a series is a tough nut for some folks to crack. If my experience thus far continues to hold true, rest assured that this might be the version of the game that finally gets people on board who might have been on the cusp before. It’s so user friendly and fun, it’s been hard to put it down. You’ll all be able to read my full thoughts on the game when my review goes live next week!

Beyond MH4U, though, I’ve just been twiddling my thumbs waiting for Majora’s Mask 3D and New 3DS XL. Both have me genuinely stoked and filled with anticipation. I did just download the remaining episodes of Moon Chronicles for 3DS, so I’ll be giving them a go over the next few days. I’m so glad Renegade Kid was able to bring this game back to fans, and I’m glad that the wait is finally over to experience the rest. I’ve been more diligent about keeping up with Amiibo pre-orders this time around, and I was able to reserve all of the Mario figures this past week, including the special edition of Mario Party 10 that comes with the plumber himself. No Wave 3 at my local GameStop just yet, though, which I found totally weird. All in all, though, it was a good week of gaming!

On the non-Nintendo front, I have been trying to make my way through Dragon Age: Inquisition for the last month. As a huge fan of RPGs and BioWare in particular, I’m loving the scope of the game and how much it improves on Dragon Age 2. Exciting combat, a wide open world, and loads of customisation– bliss!

Meanwhile, as my girlfriend has started playing Telltale’s Game of Thrones (and thus needs my computer!), I’ve finally also gotten around to starting Child of Light. It’s too early for me to tell how I’ll feel about the game in the long run, but I adore its art, music, and story. It really is one of those games that feels like a piece of art, and I can recommend it on those aspects alone!
