7) Lavender Town (Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow)

I know, I know. It’s lower than most would expect. However, I take points off due to the later versions of this tune not being that great. The original Red/Blue/Yellow version was the creepiest of creepy. The echoing in the song gives off enough chills possible, but then you factor in the arpeggio and what sounds like a minor key, you have yourself one creepy tune. As for the later versions, it just didn’t match the creepy. That includes the FireRed/LeafGreen version. What really brought in the creepiness was the 8-bit sound of it. However, I do at least somewhat defend the HeartGold/SoulSilver and Gold/Silver versions of the song. While they’re not as great, keep in mind that the disturbed spirits  and altogether spookiness of the town seemed to have faded away. And it does sound rather pleasant, to be honest, even if it doesn’t match up to the original.
