1) Metroid Prime

Wii’s Metroid Prime Trilogy demonstrated just how far ahead of its time 2002’s Metroid Prime was. Visually compelling, grossly immersing, and haunting in its grandeur, Prime is to the Metroid series what Ocarina of Time is to Zelda. Very few first-person games have ever housed such a fully realized environment as Prime, with its volumes of data about every item, location, and enemy the player encounters. Exploration and combat are perfectly balanced, and the sense of isolation on the hostile world of Tallon IV makes every victory and escape from death all the more empowering. Prime is perfectly suited for GamePad integration, as it would be perfect for scanning, weapon/visor swapping, and inventory control (the HUD has to stay, though, because looking through Samus’s visor is incredibly fun). Nintendo might be contemplating the direction for Samus’s next journey, but there’s no reason to deny the world an HD remake of her greatest game. Metroid Prime needs to make its way to Wii U.
