Top Ten: Best (And Worst) Nintendo Vacation Spots

There are places that you should visit, and others that you should stay away from.

1st Place, Holiday Hell — Lavender Town from Pokémon Red and Blue

Lavendar Town, Pokémon Red and Blue
Whatever you do, stay away from this place.

Oh, Arceus, where do I start? Lavender Town is just plain creepy. The entire town is centered around death, with the Pokémon Tower (which houses Pokémon graves) being the biggest attraction. At least the residents seemed to have some respect for the fallen Pokémon. However, what I find the most disturbing is how quickly they change their views. In Gold and Silver, set just a few years later, the Pokémon Tower has been destroyed and replaced by the Radio Tower. While the graves were moved to the House of Memories (or Soul House), I can’t imagine that the ghosts in the Pokémon Tower were happy with the change. The people of Lavender Town clearly don’t view the Pokémon graves in the sacred manner that they once did. I personally can’t think of a place that would be more terrifying to visit than a town crawling with upset Pokémon spirits, even if they can’t be seen.

Now that you’ve thoroughly perused the Nintendojo Holiday Brochure 2012, it’s your turn to let us know in the comments where you’d like to take a vacation in Videogameland and where you’d rather avoid? Cinnibar Island? Onnett? Somewhere very, very, very far away from the noise of an F-Zero track? Let us know below!

skyloft and delfino island are good vacation spots, skyloft tops delfino because, well, its a freaking floating paradise, imagine the view of the cascade falling into the sky, wow, and termina is the worst place to be, everything about that place is just, scary and weird.

I’d still like to visit Termina the most. With the Ocarina of Time, your vacation there could literally last forever!

And I’m sad to see no mention of Wuhu Island (though I agree with Isle Delfino being number one; I always thought it was the best part of Mario Sunshine). :p
