Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers

This song actually originated from the original Crystal Chronicles with the name “Promised Grace”, but it’s this rendition from its Wii successor Crystal Bearers that I like the most. It’s one of three Crystal Chronicles tunes that reappeared in Layle’s world, and it plays as the Selkie-themed tango dance if Layle’s lucky enough to encounter one of these feisty ladies during his efforts to reach Princess Althea in the Palace Ballroom. The original song was a much medieval affair– though that, too, wouldn’t sound out of place at a village dance– but the combination of piano, guitar, violin and accordion give it a dramatic, almost Spanish flair that makes it infinitely more satisfying to the old ear drums.
