10. The Couple from Project Rub

The girl from Project Rub with scorpions on her

He doesn’t even have a name, or a face. He’s just a shadow. And she…also doesn’t have a face or a name either. These two are just shadow people, but they have feelings, and throughout the game these feelings are evident. From the very beginning of Project Rub (or Feel the Magic: XY/XX, as it is known outside of the PAL region), you fight your way through seemingly impossible tasks for the girl you’ve got the hots for. Whether she’s playing hard to get, or is completely oblivious to your advances is unclear, but you have a rival for her affections, and he keeps getting in your way and kidnapping her.

When not being abducted, she needs saving from some scorpions crawling on her back, requires you to find her belongings, and even save her from a stampeding herd of bulls. You go through so much effort, and so much pain, just to show her you love her, all the while winning her different outfits (this may be fan service, or it may be an analogy to winning that cuddly toy at the fairground for that girl/guy you like; who knows!?). Sure, it may seem one-sided for most of the game, but it’s still more emotion than Bella and Edward showed, and they had the advantage of having faces.
