Though I have many interests, ranging from music to history, it all comes back to video games at the end of the day. Nintendo just so happens to be the company that got me addicted and is doing a fine job keeping me that way.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band
Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, Killer 7, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past, and Twilight Princess
Guitar Hero 4, Final Fantasy 4(DS Remake)
Nintendo, Atlus, Capcom
Game Informer, Nintendo Power
History. No other company has such a strong stable of intellectual properties that are able to move systems with every release. The willingness to gamble now and again is also a big plus.
Sometimes Nintendo is a bit too stubborn when it comes to taking the smaller steps forward. Not taking advantage of the CD format hurt the sales of the N64 and the GCN's miniDVDs didn't help either. Now we see the Wii is slow out of the gate when it comes to online multiplayer and the lack of HD support might drive some gamers away.
Get online multiplayer for the Wii up and running, drop the friend code system, and get some more games for the hardcore out there. Other than that, Nintendo's market strategy for the Wii and DS are brilliant. |
