Madden NFL 2002

Those of you that were blown away by Madden 2001 on the N64 can expect and extension of that game's brilliance for the GameCube.

All of the players and teams will be available along with improved graphics, new Madden Card challenges and plenty more "meat" to the Madden sandwich. Of course, the best part of the series is its incredible AI. Expect that to come with spades.

At E3, I managed to play a bit of the title and the Gamecube controller seemed to fit into the Madden scheme of things fairly well.

I have to admit that the Cube, Xbox and PS2 versions of the title were side by side on the same TV and the Cube version of the title didn't impress as much as the others. I don't know if that's beacuse it hasn't been optimized or because EA is going to be using last year's make of the game. EA has used this latter strategy with the 64 in the past and boy it sucked. I would hope that with the Cube's incredible hardware and a fairly easy to code format, EA would make the effort to give Nintendo gamers the latest goods.

BTW, EA where's F1 and NHL for the Gamecube? Why is it that Nintendo gamers are punished by EA? If you're concerned that there will be no hockey or F1 coverage for the Cube (as I am) write EA and let them know about it.
