Sonic Colors Announced for Wii and DS James Stank 5/26/2010, 5:24pm Eastern Time
Sega is at it again, with another new game starring Sonic and Tails. This game called Sonic Colors will be released this year for Wii and DS. There isn't much information right now, but the Wii version will be a mix of a 2D and 3D action adventure. The game will take place on different planets, featuring levels that are inspired by amusement parks.
Once again Sega has decided not to let Sonic simply run and jump. In Sonic Colors there are aliens called "wisps," which will grant Sonic new powers, such as drilling through the ground, or flying through the stage as a laser. Sonic games today all tend to have a gimmick, so it will be interesting to see if the wisps add or take away from the gameplay. At the very least, I'm sure they won't be any worse than the werehog levels in Sonic Unleashed. Here is the official reveal trailer.
